Sheridan Airport has proudly served the community since its founding in 1947. Originally established to meet the business transportation needs of local industrialist Ken Biddle, founder of Biddle Precision Components, the airport quickly became an important asset for northwest Hamilton County. As aviation grew in popularity during the 1950s and 1960s, Sheridan Airport expanded to support both business and recreational flying with the addition of hangars, flight training, and aircraft maintenance services.
The airport's paved 3,760-foot runway was completed in 1967, providing reliable all-weather access and supporting the continued growth of general aviation in the region. Over the following decades, additional hangars were constructed to meet increasing demand from aircraft owners and businesses, helping establish Sheridan Airport as a welcoming home for pilots throughout central Indiana.
Today, Sheridan Airport continues to build on nearly 80 years of aviation history by providing a safe, convenient, and community-focused airport for recreational pilots, flight training, business aviation, and visitors to Hamilton County.
